Here at Go Design Solutions, our duplex design company in Penshurst explain that as from 6th July 2018, new changes to the NSW Medium Density Housing Code come into effect, benefiting both developers and owner-builders.
The new legislation offers greater opportunity for dual occupancy development, including duplex, terrace homes and manor houses. These new changes allow for a dual occupancy development to be approved within 20 days, which means skipping the Development Application process.
Also, as part of the new rules, our duplex designers in the Sutherland Shire explain that blocks now only need to be 12 metres wide for a duplex to be built. This overrides existing council rules requiring frontages to be at least 15 to 20 metres.
