Residential design services in Sutherland Shire explain the meaning of an exempt development
Here in Australia, our residential drafting services in Sutherland Shire explain that an exempt development refers to a very low impact development that can be done for certain residential, commercial and industrial properties.
This is governed by State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development) 2008, also known as the “Codes SEPP”.
Exempt development refers to a low impact, minor development for which no Council approval is necessary as long as the standards set out in the legislation are met. Some minor building renovations or works don’t need any planning or building approval.
Our residential drafting design experts share a few examples of these possible exempt developments:
- Small decks
- Garden sheds
- Carports
- Fences
- Minor repairs
- Façade alterations
As long as the proposed works meet all of the development standards as stated in the State Policy for exempt and complying development, approval may not be needed.
Our experts in home extensions in Sutherland Shire are here to help you with your DA approval with professional and bespoke residential drafting design services.
